B'nai Zion Tashlich: Cast Your Sins into the Water
On the afternoon of Rosh Hashanah, the ceremony called Tashlich is traditionally observed. Jews go to the ocean or a stream or river to pray and cast sins into the water. Although there is a tradition to cast bread or other crumbs, we are being considerate to the animals in the water, we will be throwing food that is healthy for the animals and the water (which will be provided when you arrive - you are also welcome to bring your own).
Meet at the Stoner Avenue Boat Launch (the parking lot at the end opposite the
Dog Park). There is plenty of parking, cement stairs going down to the platform,
and a long platform, where we can stay socially distanced.
Rabbi Jana will blow the shofar.
You are welcome to bring your own shofar to help with the blasts.
All ages are welcome.
The B'nai Zion High Holy Day Schedule page will have details about how to join us and when the event will be this year.
