The Great Contributions of Jewish Magicians And, Watch Closely, There's Magic in the Message" With Richard Hatch Historian and Magician

Join us for a magic show by Richard Hatch and a brief discussion of "Jews in Magic," a 1933 German book by Guenther Dammann about the contributions of Jewish magicians.

Everyone - all ages - will enjoy the magic and the mystery and the special discoveries about Jews and Magic.

Discover stories about Jews in magic from a 1933 book almost lost to history from Richard Hatch, a Utah magician who will entertain with his own magic and offer a presentation into the history of Jewish magicians from the early 1900s and beyond.

While Richard Hatch holds two graduate degrees in Physics from Yale University, he is also a lifelong professional “deceptionist,” according to him. He honed his craft at Houston’s Magic Island Nightclub before devoting himself to private and corporate work, traveling internationally.

In the world of magic, he is known for his translation of “Jews in Magic,” a 1933 book in German about the wonderful contributions of Jewish magicians. The New York Times recently devoted three pages of their Arts & Leisure section to Hatch’s rediscovery of this historical book.

He and his wife, violinist Rosemary Kimura Hatch, are residents of Logan, where they operate the Hatch Academy of Magic and Music, dubbed by the press as, “a combination of Hogwarts and Julliard,” according to Hatch.
