Wondering - What is Holy?

We have had a month of holy days. Today I am wondering - what does it mean to be "holy"? What is "holy"?

We first hear the word "holy" right after G-d created the world, and was then resting and made Shabbat "holy."

G-d gives us the command: "You shall be holy, because I am holy."

Moses is standing at the burning bush and was commanded to remove his sandals, because the ground he was standing on is "holy."

There are other places in our Scriptures and our Liturgy that mention "holy," but I have understood it different ways throughout the years.

This week's Wondering is: What do you think it means to be holy? What do you think holy means?

I can tell you that I love holy days, but I am also glad that we back to "regular" days. As you have probably heard, I am scheduled to take a little vacation. If "holy" means "different" then I am hoping to find some different kinds of days. I am still looking forward to hearing from you.

Remember that you can find previous Wondering questions and answers HERE. I love that people are still sending me answers to some of the previous questions. It has been wonderful to be having discussions with you about the Wonderings.
