Wednesday Wonderings - Why Here?

I have a new question for you.

First, thank you again to everyone who answered about their favorite part of the High Holy Days. I received more answers since I last wrote to you. They are all on the "Wonderings" page.

Second, I only received a few answers to last week's question. I was wondering if you had ideas about a little change that could make a difference.

The questions are also posted on my Blog page HERE. The responses can be read on the Wonderings page HERE. You are always welcome to submit answers - even long after the week I send the question.

NEW QUESTION: This week I am wondering what brought you to B'nai Zion and/or what brought you to Shreveport. Many of you were born here and are members of B'nai Zion, because your parents - and even grandparents and great-grandparents - were members here. Some of you chose this place and this congregation.

Please reply to this email with your "story." It does not have to be long - but you are welcome to take your time and give a detailed explanation. Whatever you choose. I am hoping that we will have an opportunity to discuss it at some point.

I may post the responses. If I do, I will edit your response to ensure that it is anonymous - no one should be able to "guess" that it is from you. I do this for a few reasons, the most important is for security reasons: to protect your privacy, and so that no one can see your story and take advantage of it. If you ask me not to post your answer at all, that is not a problem.

I hope that you will answer. Perhaps instead of posting the words of the stories that people send, I can turn it into a chart - how many were born here, how many moved here, etc. I think you will be interested to see the composition of our congregation right now.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
