4:30 PM - 5:00 PMThe Glen main building entrance (403 E. Flournoy Lucas Road)

On the afternoon of Rosh Hashanah, the ceremony called Tashlich is traditionally observed. Jews go to the ocean or a stream or river to pray and cast sins into the water. This year, despite the funny list of bread types in the bulletin, we are being more considerate to the animals in the water, and we are recommending not throwing bread. We will have bird seed to throw instead. We found out that in addition to the fact that bread is not a healthy nutritional food for the ducks, fish or turtles, any uneaten bread allows algae to thrive, and makes the water more dangerous for the animals who need the water to survive. We will once again go to the pond at The Glen (403 E. Flournoy Lucas) for our Tashlich ceremony. which has a covered area where we can stand or sit, protected from too much sun, or even rain. All ages are welcome.
