This interactive presentation, led by Dr. Valerie Hébert, will highlight the specific advantages and challenges that Holocaust photographs pose to the researcher and student. We will discuss wartime images taken by perpetrators and victim-witnesses. Through these photos, we will also explore the thorny ethical questions about their place in publications, exhibitions, and the classroom.
Photographs depicting violence and death will be shown during this lecture. Viewer discretion is advised.
