OMER COUNTING:   

Begin counting the Omer Tuesday evening, April 23. Continue to count each day (and week) through Shavuot (the Festival of "Weeks").

SHAVUOT

B'nai Zion will be celebrating in a variety of ways this year:

7:30pm Tuesday June 11 at Agudath Achim (and online) Rabbi Jana joins Rabbi Laor for Shavuot evening service and learning. More details are here.

11am Wednesday June 12 on Zoom Rabbi Jana leads Shavuot morning service, discussion, and Yizkor. More details are here.

YIZKOR

The Shavuot services will also include Yizkor. To see this year's Yizkor names go to the B'nai Zion Yizkor page

We will be using the 5784 Memorial book.

If it is your tradition to light a Yizkor candle, remember to light it before sundown Tuesday, June 11. Candles are available in the B'nai Zion office, and at some local supermarkets.

SHABBAT:
Evening Services are 6pm Friday in-person at B'nai Zion and on YouTube.

Morning Torah Study and Services are 9:45am on Zoom.

FUN:

Pickleball and Ping-Pong 
at BZ 6pm every Wednesday

Mah-Jongg  Each month 6pm 1st & 3rd Wednesdays; 1pm 2nd & 4th Tuesdays. Register at the North Louisiana Jewish Federation site HERE.

ENRICHMENT:

People of the Book Club: We are discussing  “Your Presence is Mandatory” by Sasha Vasilyuk.  - POSTPONED. Date not yet set.

ADULT EDUCATION: 7-9pm Wednesdays on Zoom:

    Rabbi Jana will discuss a variety of topics to be able to understand Judaism whether you have always been Jewish, want to become Jewish, or are just curious about Judaism. We will discuss what to do when someone dies, funeral preparation, mourning procedures, and after-life beliefs in Jewish tradition.

    Celebrate the 613 Mitzvot (commandments) by getting together for a dinner gathering on 6/13 (Thursday, June 13) at 6:13 PM. Rabbi Jana may share some Mitzvot challenges and discussions This is our sixth 613 social gathering. We can spend some time together, and appreciate the 613 Mitzvot. Arrive early (6pm-ish) to order in time to be sitting and visiting by 6:13pm. We used to love Jabez, but it is closed. We have found the Jabez owners in a new location with a new name: Ichiban in the Pierre Bossier Mall, 2950 E Texas St, Bossier City, LA 71111 (Note: NOT the Ichiban in Shreveport).
