CANCELED: World Religion Day Shreveport / Bossier City

Sunday, February 1, 2026 14 Sh'vat 5786

2:00 PM - 5:00 PMThe Highland Center 520 Olive Street

CANCELED. First it was postponed, but the decision has been made to cancel the event for this year.

Mark your calendars for next year's World Religion Day: 2-5pm Sunday, January 24, 2027.

This is an annual celebration of the wonderful religious diversity we have here in Northwest Louisiana, and past participants have included several different Christian denominations (Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, Episcopalian), plus Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Unitarian Universalists, Druids, Norse Pagans,  and others. It's a full afternoon of celebration that includes table displays in the gym from the various participating congregations, as well as 3 different panel discussions throughout the afternoon in the Chapel, where representatives from the different faith traditions consider some of the Big Questions in a spirit of dialogue, not debate. The purpose of the event is to celebrate and embrace not only the ways we are alike, which are many, but also the ways that we are different.

The Mission Statement of World Religion Day is this:
"The participating faiths of World Religion Day Shreveport-Bossier seek to foster greater peace, harmony, and understanding through education and celebration, sharing beliefs and practices in an atmosphere of mutual respect, without intent to proselytize or convert. "

Learn about the belief systems of our neighbors in Shreveport and Bossier City.

There are booths with information, panel discussions, music and more.

Please contact the Jewish Federation if you can sit at the Judaism table for part of the day.
