Place Flags at Gravesites before Veterans Day
Sunday, November 6, 2022 • 12 Cheshvan 5783
3:00 PM - 4:00 PMB'nai Zion CemeteriesVeterans Day is when we honor our living Veterans. We honor our veterans with a special Shabbat Service.
At B'nai Zion we also have a tradition of making sure that there are flags at the gravesites of each veteran, to honor everyone who is buried in our cemeteries and served in any capacity in the military.
We will be placing or replacing flags at the graves of the veterans in the B'nai Zion cemeteries. We will meet first at the Jewish section of Greenwood Cemetery on Stoner Avenue (Hebrew Rest 3). We also plan to go to Hebrew Rest 1 (the Jewish section of Oakland Cemetery) and Hebrew Rest 2 (1437 Texas Avenue).
It would be helpful if you let the office or the Rabbi know if you plan to join us - so that we know to expect you.
Check the BZ website in case of any changes.
Please contact the office if you see veteran grave sites that do not have a flag.
