News about the COVID-19 Vaccine - if you are eligible - if you have questions

01/06/2021 10:13:49 AM

Most of the B'nai Zion congregants are over 70 years old, and are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. Here is information about getting vaccinated, and at the end of the message there is information about a discussion on Zoom this Sunday with Dr. Ricky De Benedetti, who has spent his career studying viruses.

There are a few pharmacies who are receiving vaccines. YOU MUST MAKE A RESERVATION FOR A SPECIFIC TIME BEFORE YOU GO.

You may have been trying to call for appointments already.

In Northwest Louisiana, the pharmacies include:

  • Super One Pharmacy at 1870 Arline in Bossier City
  • Super One Pharmacy at 2640 Wagner Street in Shreveport
  • Boudreaux's Compounding Pharmacy at 2551 Greenwood Road in Shreveport
  • Brookshire's Pharmacy at 5828 Line Ave. in Shreveport
  • Brookshire's Pharmacy at 4918 Barksdale Blvd. in Bossier City
  • Brookshire's Pharmacy in Mansfield
  • Albertson's at 105 East Southfield in Shreveport
  • Walgreens in Many
  • Ted's Pharmacy in Haynesville
  • Kelley's Pharmacy in Plain Dealing
  • Springhill Family Pharmacy
  • Arcadia Family Drug

So now the good news -- any 70+ person who has been seen at an Ochsner LSU facility within the past 3 years, is eligible to get the Pfizer vaccine now at the ACC on Kings Highway or the St Mary's hospital (old Schumpert building).

Appointments are only being taken through the Patient portal website: , or the My Ochsner app.

Then click on Schedule Appointment, then Schedule COVID vaccine. Then make sure you choose St. Mary's or ACC (all Ochsner sites in South Louisiana are also listed, so avoid those).

For now, they are not announcing when younger age groups will be invited.

Here is the website with the rest of the info for Ochsner:
