B'nai Zion Congregation

B’nai Zion Congregation was established in Shreveport 150 years ago.  We are a charter member of the Union of Reform Judaism.  As a Reform Jewish congregation, we have deep Jewish roots, with flexibility that suits the needs of modern Jews.  Our worship services are filled with inspiration and music.  We provide programming, spiritual, social and educational programs for members of all ages.  We have a Religious School for children three years old to Confirmation run by a professional Educator serving us for more than three decades, an active pre-school group and ShFTY (the Shreveport Federation of Temple Youth - part of NFTY Southern), our teen-age youth group.  We offer regular Torah study, book club meetings, a Jewish community choir, a Sisterhood, and Brotherhood.  Our We Care committee provides meals and visits to members who are ill or recuperating.  We maintain our own cemeteries.  Our Rabbi teaches and guides us, and officiates at all life cycle events, holidays, and is a Spiritual Leader respected in the interfaith community.

Whether you are looking for a comfortable Jewish experience, or a place to experience Judaism, please consider B'nai Zion.
