Membership Application for
B'nai Zion Congregation
Dear Potential New B’nai Zion Members:
On behalf of B’nai Zion, We invite you to
participate in the growth of our congregation.
You are welcome to contact the office for
membership materials or please
download a membership
application as well as an explanation of our voluntary
Fair Share
Dues Plan, which we feel is equitable and democratic. This plan is strongly
endorsed by the Union of Reform Judaism and has been successfully adopted by
most Reform Congregations throughout the United States.
The Dues Plan addresses only the operating
budget and is entirely separate from our Building Fund.
The annual operating budget requires dues
necessary to maintain the temple overhead, i.e. salaries, religious school,
adult education, religious services, youth services, music and bulletin, as well
as normal maintenance and repairs.
Those who came before us preserved our
Jewish heritage – our obligation is to do the same for the generations to
follow.
We urge you to join with us in maintaining
a House of Worship, a House of Learning and a House of Assembly.
Should you feel the Dues Fair Share Plan,
as presented, is inappropriate for your situation, please contact either the
membership Chair, B’nai Zion President, Vice-President or Treasurer. You are
always also welcome to speak with the Rabbi about any questions or concerns
about membership at B’nai Zion.
We warmly welcome your active
participation.
Shalom,
Jon Black
