Jewish Education

There are many opportunities for Jewish learning in Shreveport.

Pre-school students (under age 3) and their parents have opportunities each month to socialize and learn and worship together.

Students from three year olds through ninth grade participate in a joint Religious School program with Agudath Achim (the Conservative congregation in Shreveport) at B'nai Zion on Sundays from 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM.

B'nai Zion has a long and strong history of tenth grade students continuing their studies in Confirmation Class.

We have a joint Hebrew School with Agudath Achim that meets at least twice a week (Bar/Bat Mitzvah students meet with their respective Rabbi in addition to attending Hebrew class) and begins when a student enters third grade.

ALEPH Hebrew (3rd and 4th grades)     Sundays after Religious School and Thursday afternoons
B’NAI MITZVAH Class (5th through 7th grades)     Sundays before Religious School and Tuesday afternoons
B'NAI MITZVAH students within a year of their Bar/Bat Mitzvah set up individual weekly lessons with the Rabbi

We offer a variety of adult education opportunities throughout the year.  Let us know if you have specific topics you would like to study.

Contact our Educator, Helaine Braunig or Rabbi Jana through the B'nai Zion office, for more information.

Please submit Registration form and payment of tuition before first class.
